Help Radio Not Working

just signed up today, need help radio not working .... 1999 yaris 1 l was working ok all along

think one of kids messing with it cannot get any clear radio stations just static , but the odd time

when i think i am getting signal doesnt work . Have looked up manual etc tape deck works fine and clock etc

so does not seem to be fuse..

anyone out there knows whats need to fix for my sanity.. thanks

Similar thing happened to me last week - radio OK, then all of a sudden I just get static now and the occasional 'breakthrough' of a radio station if I'm lucky.

Seems an obvious thing but check your aerial is still there - I've just found out some :censor: has pinched mine!

yeah it is still there removed it put back on even tried an old hangar didnt work . hope you get the..who took it or get a replacement fast nothing more annoying. thanks anyway.

I wonder whether the aerial might have become disconnected - probably at the back of the head unit, but there could be a join part way through - perhaps in the kick panel.

If it's not that then consider possible earthing problem either at the head unit or the aerial or else the lead may have earthed or broken somewhere.

Out of interest is it any better when the engine's not running, or is it just the same?

no different when engine working... have managed to get an am station but is crap.., have disconnected Battery saw that somewhere no joy so will try that hopefully that will work

I was gonna suggest that but if everything else is fine, it may be a long shot! Always worth a try, though.
