Engine Earth

hi guys yesterday i had a problem due to loose contact from the engine earth which is located on the passenger side behind the headlight , the car stopped and all the electronics went crazy and when y took the key out of the ignition everything stayed on still!no windows or lock worked i couldnt even open the boot to pull out the towhook to pull it on the tow truck. after taking it to an electrition and he found the fault immediately he was surprized that under the earth it is painted and ke told me to sand the paint off for contact.we even put another earth to the engine so i wouldnt have this sort of problem in the future.
