sounds like busted ringlands im afraid. is it on one plug only? if so which cylinder.

if you need a definite diagnosis call ian at TR&D in Nottingham, he is the leading GT4 specialist and will give you the best advice. (01159680666)

I would put money on it being the rocker gasket. I have exactly the same problem but haven't gotten round to replacing it yet. Is it one of the middle 2 plugs? This seems to be the one that goes. Only ~£3 for the middle gasket but you'd be silly not to replace the whole thing. I paid less than £20 for both gaskets from Toyota. Fitting is a little trickier and probably a couple hours of work.

I assume Dawsey thinks you mean on the business end of the plug inside the cylinder? I was talking about on the top where the HT connects. Where is your oil?

Yeap got the same issue here. But where the oil is coming from will make a big difference. On mine the valve cover gasket was worn out and the spark plug area(cylinder 2) where the spark plug wires attach to was filled in oil, if thats your situation then you have a cheap fix probly about $10 if u install yourself. Or if its coming from the cylinder itself that is worst case scenario with would be ringlands or piston issue thats the expensive :(

Unfortunately it is in the engine side of the plug I think. I have only spoke to the mechanic over the phone so I aint had a look myself. Just need to figure out if it's worth keepin or not.

how good is ur gt four. new engine can be got for about 900 of eBay and the like. a rebuild u will b looking 1200 ish can b done a bit cheaper but thats a good ball park figure.

what about the suspension and rear dif mount etc are these all ok and is the car running well apart from this problem if so then i would keep it! a mint gt four is reaching 7k, bad 1s are gettin about 3k.

if you are going to break it then let me know as i am alway looking for parts. gt fours can get good money by breaking them.
