Gear Gaitor

Has anybody changed the leather gear gaitor on a rav4 to a cloth one, or a better/more expensive product??

It makes the most horrible of sounds that my wife just can't stand and was wondering if there are any alternatives to the one in place on a 4.3 07 plate.

I have thought about some leather softener but want to make sure this is the only option left to me before i decide on my course of actions.

Have scrolled through google and e-bay with not much luck so thought i'd ask on a dedicated forum.

Hmm, interesting, mine doesn't make any noise at all! Might be worth trying a leather polish (every home should have one) before going any further. However, I wonder if they are really made from leather??

There will also be those who suggest changing the wife....... (Not a cheap option, in my experience :o )

The gaitor is as quiet as a mouse - no problems at all. :D
