hey all, need some new brake pads in the near future for the front two corners (tyre fitter noticed when replacing my tyres) and disks look fine.

thing is i would rather upgrade my pads instead of putting toyota pads back on.

so i would like some help in finding me some decent pads, ive read in posts about ebc, black diamond etc but cant seem to find some for my car.

any help would be gratefull :)

Everybody has their own opinions on which breaks they prefer.

I Myself use EBC Redstuff all around and can't complain. They stop me when I need stopping! and they're quick about it.

Plus it seems easier to clean the dust off my wheels! :P

I bought them from EBC's website as I couldn't find anywhere else that was much cheaper. Paid like an extra £2 for Guaranteed next day delivery.

I've had to stop suddenly for some red lights over the past months (not paying attention) with them on. I personally think they're better than the ones fitted as standard. As I'm sure a lot of people will agree.

Onlt thing that annoyed me for a while was slight squeaking while they were adapting to the shape of the discs.

Think I'll have to change the lot again soon as my discs are getting quite worn.

Ive got black diamonds and i love them compared to standard pads which are terrible. Still better out there id say though, they still fade a bit when you give them a good hammering.

do i have to phone them and tell them my car make/model ? or is it all done on the site ?

Mine had greenstuff pads on for a while which were ok but a lacked bite when cold, switched to Mintex which are good all round and dont give a lot of dust either, there not regarded as a performance pad though (i dont think).

Anything has to be better than the originals.

I have used the EBC greenstuff pads before and agree when cold it's like you have no brakes. Thing is as they warm up they get better i.e no fade just stronger braking. If you do use them and come off a motorway it is best to get some heat in them on the slip road otherwise when you get to the end of the slip you might not stop!

They do reduce squeaks and dust a huge amount, wheels need cleaning once a month not once a week.
