Super Charger

i think the main arguements against this (if any) would be:

1- you have to get it fitted - which could cost a lot.

2- upgrading your brakes and other stuff to make sure your can handle the extra power.

with the costs involved with changing other parts of your car your best solution would be to sell your car now and buy a compressor which looks better and is designed to handle that level of power.

I hope that makes sense

Prolex if I'm not mistaken was setup by some guys over on the sister site Lexus Owners Club, am sure more detailed info would available there, although may be biased if from the distributors mouth...

Its the TTE kit that used to be offered from the dealer. I've got the TTE Compressor kit parts list and repair manual in a PDF, which I got from TTE the other day. Guess it will show you roughly whats involved although its not the installation manual.

PM me if you want a copy as I have no idea how to attach it!

It's the exact same kit used on the TTE Compressors. So no real need to upgrade brakes or anything the like.

If I'm not mistaken the only difference on the Compressors is the Suspension, besides bodywork Ofc. (I may be wrong?)

To be honest I'd pay that much just for that lovely Whine with the K&N Fitted and the extra 0-60 gain!

be quite a simple conversion tbh - if you have the money go for it but i would try and avoid the TTE ECU and get something that can be mapped. you looking at 250bhp then and you could keep proper lift not that smoothed out version. If i remember right Prolex were trying to get a warranty deal with TTE to cover the parts - i would make sure thats in place. for an extra £1700 with my car i couldnt get a compressor so i dont know where your coming from there. I wouldnt say the compressor is better looking neither - just more obvious and a bit Germanic with Audi style tail pipes.

hmm they was a company selling the supercharger on eBay and they would set it all up for you exactly like the compressor. they where charging about £3000.

so if that supercharger comes with ecu and wasnt too difficult to fit then if i had the money i would go for it.

obviously selling a cts and spending exactly another 1700 will not buy you a compressor.

I was just trying to say that if you spend a lot of money to get a supercharged cts and then wouldn't it be easier to get a compressor in the first place (despite it costing more than a cts).

i know Dave at PROLEX quite well and when he sold the S/C's for the lexus is200's fitting was included and if i remember its the same system thats fitted to the corrola s/c so quite a straight forward conversion? and think if you brought it from TTE themselves its about £4700 :o

just imagine the car you would end up with? all the discretion and uncluttered style of an original T Sport with comp performance. if i had the kite.............

only thing i dont like the sound of is the DBW throttle body - heard a few negative reviews but cant comment on the comp's DBW set-up as i have only driven commercial vehicles with it. If its £1700 for the parts that's pretty good, Toyota charged a lot more for the conversions there dealers carried out. All the tech guides are available too. the money you save you could use a bit to improve the inherintly weak T Sport/Compressor brakes?
