Different Tyres

I have just put new General Grabber UHP tyres (chosen for the combination of performance reviews and price) on the front of my fiancees 4.2 NRG vvti to replace the worn out Yokohamas. The rear still has Yokohamas which have 3-4 mm tread left on both sides. I intend replacing them with GG UHPs as well when the time comes.

In the meantime, would it be better having the new tyres on the front or rear, or doesn't it matter?

Thanks for any advice offered.

Depends on how you use it.

New on front = better for steering through deep puddles

New on rear = better grip when accelarating through deep puddles.

4 new tyres = less chance of aquaplaning

Or just let the train take the strain.

Well, they are a bit noisier than the Toyo's I had on before but not much....As for wondering, when I turn the wheel to go around a bend there fine..when straight fine as well... :D :D :D

Get plenty of flooding around here so had good use of them in the wet and performed brilliantly. Most of my journey to/from work is country lanes and A/B roads and motorway...all fine... smooth ride as I have them set at 2.0bar all round (all four tyres, before some wise remarks ;) ) overall very pleased with them...

A recent test by a car maker pretty conclusively demonstarted that new tyres were always best on rear if you are only fitting 2

Well, you learn something everyday  Thank you Hoovie

A guy I work with tells me that true aficianados refer to her as VB-H (the hyphen is, apparently, terribly important.. )

I think she's got competition in Sabine Schmitz (Top Gear Transit round the Nurburgring) :blow:

Haven't seen Emma Parker-Bowles (and don't wanna be found googling her by the better half - always tricky to explain  ) but she is hyphenated...... Is she one of "the" Parker-Bowles???

To save you googling here's WikiPedia comments....

"From Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia

Emma Parker-Bowles (born 1974), daughter of Richard Eustace Parker-Bowles and Camilla Younger (The Countess of Halifax) is the niece of Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall.

A former model, when younger she was treated for addiction to drink and drugs[1], and was a client of celebrity motoring lawyer Nick Freeman[2].

Parker-Bowles is a motoring correspondent for Britain's Top Gear Magazine, The Sun newspaper and Tatler. She is a presenter on British TV programme Vroom Vroom."

As they would say "Top Totty"

You know how sometimes a comment like that is made about a person, and you're never able to look at them again without thinking, "Yep, that's right, there's zippy." Just happened to me  So, Anchorman, no comments about Sabine, please!!
