Headlights Stopped Working At Same Time

I have a 2000 Toyota Celica and I love it. Just recently I was driving back from my parents and noticed that my lights did not automatically turn on when it got dark. The daytime running light work, but once it gets dark... nothing. I can put on my brights and they work, but I can not keep driving at night with my brights on. It is almost like the sensor isn't working or talking to the headlights to tell them to turn on.

Anyone know how to fix this...

erm, which celica do you drive as to my knowledge they dont have automatic lights, but if they do for both to fail it wont be the bulbs, or its highly unlikley to be the bulbs, so check the fuse's.

Location says new mexico.. unfortunately in the UK we do not have auto headlights.

if you have a gen 7 the sensor should be behind the steering wheel, the little black blob... you havent blocked it with something?

But surely you can still manually put them on?? If not it must be a fuse.

The daytime running lights come on, but once it gets dark, the night lights don't come on. I've checked all the fuses and they are fine, and the sensor isn't blocked. I guess I should have said that the lights can be manually turned on and off, but when the daytime running lights are on, once it gets dark, they don't get any brighter.
