Hi Guys,

Help needed urgently, I have a Toyota cassette head unit (13706) and i recently purchased a Toyota CD changer,(TM0461) and a CD coNtroller seperately, but when I got it, I noticed the connector on the lead wouldnt go into the CD controller but the other end fits the CD changer?? the plug socket on the CD controller is alot smaller than the plug, any help would be appreciated, the car is a 1995 MR2 UK Spec

The 13706 means that you have an active speaker system. This unit does not have the 'Fujitsu Ten' (twelve pin block).

See:

This is the interface which would link it to the CD changer.

The unit was occasionally supplied with a single CD player with a round shaped plug.

Both connectors are shown on the two different units.

Unless you can source a spare plug and can figure out the wiring you have a problem.

Alternatively you could acquire a more convertional 'Toyota' headunit from eBay. However you would still have to souce an ISO cable and/or rewire the headunit. PLUS you would also need to by-pass the amplifiers already fitted in the car to reach the speaker system.

Best advice would be to obtain an ISO headunit with a CD changer socket. All you would then need is one of these:

or similar. Care with the number of pins (I think your wiring will be the 14pin PC9-411) -They are cheaper on eBay

The simple way out would be to get a plug and fit it to the end of my my lead that plugs into the CD controller under the radio/cassette player, Ive contacted the person who sold me the CDc ontroller so he think he might have a spare lead.. fingers crossed...
