Hi there. My best advice is to wait until hear from a more knowledgeable person than me (!) - someone like Anchorman who (I think) used to work for a brake manufacturer. However, the only time this has happened to me (on my old CB750) the way I freed the piston was to insert something smaller than the old pad in the space between the piston and the disc (a piece of wood) then used the hydraulic pressure itself by pumping the brake pedal, which pushed the piston out ie towards the disc. I was then able to clean the piston sufficiently to make it work smoothly, so I could eventually use a clamp to push the piston back into the caliper. Hey presto, then I was able to fit new pads

Good luck

also when you press the piston back please keep an eye on the brake fluid level! since when you press it back this will increase the level.

i used the suspension to hold the caliper in place and then a big spanner. what i mean is the bit of the suspension where the spring ends. find it difficult to explain but when you do it this way you can get some real power on it and use the big spanner (or some thing else) as a lever.

Told you - the calipers are bgrs!!

Trouble is whether the piston moves back and fro once you have new pads on..........
