There's no answer to this really - it depends on the insurance company you're with.

You should really declare any mods you have done to the car - if you don't then they will either invalidate your insurance if they find out or use as an excuse to avoid payment should you need to make a claim.

From my experience the more 'normal' companies like Admiral or Elephant (who I used with the CRX) seemed to add quite a bit considering any gains on the cars I had at the time were pretty much nil. Where as more specialist companies like Greenlight and noel dasely seemed to understand a little more and didn't add too much. It's worth declaring it though, just as Boro Sera said, they'll try anything not to pay up!

Here's a one that makes no sense though. The black sheep of our family got himself banned for drink driving after writing his car off in a single car accident - and they paid up!! Where's the justice in that??

When I was with Admiral 2 years ago I think it costed me an extra £50 for an induction kit on a 1.6 astra MK4. My last insurer Tesco wanted £150 for a induction on my CTS! Best to call and ask as mentioned above.

yea it really does depend who ur with some insurers give you an allowance.. for example 5 free mods that would affect your monthly or annual premiums. but every insurer to themselves u needs to check with each of them to make sure!
