Back in the UK with my French registered Verso 2.2 I found that the rear radar sensors were not working. I went to Currie Motors service department in Isleworth who refused to fix them. I was astounded and asked them to put their reasons in writing and here is what the service advisor wrote.

'Sensors fitted on car are not showing on Toyota EPC. So assuming sensors fitted to car are fitted after car is imported into France. For us to do any warrenty we will need the Bill of Sale to accompany warrenty claim.'

Front and rear sensors are standard on this model and I explained this but without proof they were not willing to accept my word. They implied that anything that was not standard to UK spec would not be covered. I can't believe that this is the case and have written to Toyota UK and will post their reply.

I will avoid going to Currie Motors in future. I took my car there when I first experienced alignment problems and they said they could not check the car as their machine was not able to check lhd vehicles.

I am sure you have probably already checked this but has the on/off switch behind the trim in the boot been turned off? The first time I pulled out the boot cover in my Verso I knocked the switch and turned the rear sensors off.

I know it's a good idea to have the switch (if you are towing) but it is not located in the best place.
