2003 Yaris T3 - Wet Interior

Hi all,

What a cheek - my first post and I'm asking for help!

My daughter recetly bought a Yaris T3 and during the bank Holiday (when it rained non-stop for a couple of days) the drivers footwell got saturated.

I lifted the carpet & removed the sound-proofing to dry if and then mopped up the water best I could, then whilst shining a torch I got my daughter to pour water over the windscreen from a watering-can and nothing - no water coming in at all.

next day there's another shower and the footwell is wet again.

My question to you folks is is it a common fault & is there a common seal which perishes?

I would really appreciate some help with this problem

Thank you

pete

If the moderators are looking at this could they please move this article to the correct place please.

It is quite possible that the water is entering the car from the door itself. There is a plastic lining inside the door panel. If that is damaged water could run down the outside of the glass, drip inside the door and then get into the car. This has happened to me several times on different makes of cars.
