Just got my car back from Mr T at Jemca Edgware road, got my 10k service done at £149 which is fine and some warranty work that was taken care of.

So the service rep call's me up and quotes 'you need new front and rear brake pads as they are 70%-80% worn at £300 supplied and fitted' :o

and he also mentions 'your car needs new fluids changed, coolant, brake and clutch at £250 supplied and flushed' :o

Where do they get these prices from??? unbelievable...so in the end I just got the fluids from jap parts for £20.41 and changed at a private garage for free coz I know him :D and brake pads Im leaving for now as im upgrading them but still they Mr T cant rip people off like that!

I feel sorry for people that actually pay those dealer prices :censor:

Just be carefull guys...

Cheers

Yep Serious, cant knock the service tho they are good. Its just a shame they charge alot for simple work.

Speak to Ricardo...they got a promotional price which is the £149 which includes VAT

I had my last service done there, before i brought it back to Ireland. I got the same talk about the brake pads. 80%...... Not even close to that, pulled the wheels of to have a look but you could even see with the wheels on. This was last year. They are expensive for jobs, just get the oil change and the book stamped. Any other jobs do it privately.

Bought brake pad all round from Toyota the last day, just less than 100 euro. They are the same pads as the standard corolla, on the pre-facelift anyhow

Check under your bonnet, mine has sticker saying the coolant is good for 100K miles, they tried it on with me last time it had to get serviced at main dealer. I quickly pointed it out and they went quiet about it.

Cheers.

Speaking of discs and pads... My EBC Redstuff are on their last breath and my first MOT is due this month!

The Discs are also worn to bits and need replacing, I liked the EBC Redstuff and was thinking of getting them again.

Totals £117 for EBC Redstuff Pads & Vented Discs for front inclduing delivery. Will fit myself so no labour charges either.

I bought my car from Jemca on Edgware Road, and the only reason was because I got a seriously good price on it, their after sales was pathetic/aggressive/incompetent in equal measures and I have never been back to them since driving away with the car. One to stay away from in my opinion.

Do the ebc disks rust at all?
