HI ALL,

RECENTLY BOUGHT A 1994 PREVIA WITH 97000 ON CLOCK AND JUST DROVE IT TO ITALY AND BACK WITH ONLY ONE PROBLEM ..... MY HEATER IS KICKING STEAM OUT OF THE VENTS. THIS WAS TAKING ALL THE WATER FROM THE EXPANSION BOTLE AND DROPPING IT INTO THE FOOTWELL AND ALSO ONTO THE GROUND BELOW. MANAGED TO RESOLVE PROBLEM TEMPORARILY BY BYPASSING THE HEATER BUT WOULD VALUE ANY SUGGESTIONS AS TO NATURE OF THE FAULT BEFORE I START TAKING THE WHOLE THING TO BITS.

I had the same problem very recently. Turned out to be a faulty heater matrix that needed to be replaced. It's buried in the dashboard so it's a lengthy job to replace. A replacement heater cost around £300 and £390 to fit it at a local garage (not Toyota dealer).
