Piper Cams

Hi,

Been looking at the piper cams for the vvtli, just wondering if anyone has any info on these?

They say they are meant to give more low down torque which is great, seeing the cts has very little low down.

My only concern is getting the dreaded lights on the dash when installed.

If anyone knows any pro's and cons with these cams please let me know

Thanks.

Why not try a Power Enterprise CAMCON ? This enables you to fine tune when the VVTi kicks in

You should find some info there...

But you gain much more with standalone ems..

ive got a question wtf is a ppe header ? is it the same as a apexi fc ? can it be used on a cts ?

Better pics can be found here.. http://www.newcelica.org/forums/showthread...ight=PPE+header

They aleast fit 2ZZ powered USDM Corollas so they should fit on a CTS ;)

Do ya think the piper cams would bring up the engine management light?, i.e would the ecu have to be tuned to accept them?

quick bump for this. has anyone tried it yet in their cts?

Not really answering your question this! There are a few on the Celica owners club who definitely done it, if dont get the answer here, join up on that site and ask on there, then tell us what they said ;)

Another Bump for this thread... :D

Im mad keen to get a set of pipers stage 2 (285 degree grind) cams for my motor, but that mad rush to go out and spend money is being held back by my yellow bellied fear of being hit with a monstrous fitment charge.

Has there been anyone to date who has used Piper (or any aftermarket Cam) upgrades??

Just for reference MWR (stateside) have some very impressive looking dyno plots here: Clicky

Am i wrong in saying that these would be a devil to fit because of the work required to remove and refit the timing chain?

Im all ears if anyone has any experience here :help:
