Carina E Alarm Goes Off Randomly

Hi

I am new to this forum and tried to find answer in previous posts without much of success.

I have got 1997 Carina 1.8 Si and the problem I got since a few days is that the alarm goes off at any time with no reason, when the car is parked.

Sometimes it is silent for a few hours and then will go off every few minutes and after 30 seconds it is silent again.

Car works perfectly, starts as normal and nothing else is happening.

Does anybody know what to do? I would be happy if I could somehow switch it off permanently without affecting other car's operations. I could not find a fuse responsible just for this, alarm so have no idea what to do.

Please help.

Thank you

Rafal

I had a similar issue with my last carina, i found that unplugging the alarm siren solved the problem, this meant that if u was to say open the boot without disabling the alarm the indicators would flash but the siren obviously wouldnt sound.

The siren was in the o/s front corner behind the bumper on mine

Hope this helps
