Clicking Noise At Speed?

Dear all,

I get a clicking noise inside the car at speeds above 50mph. The faster the speed, the louder the clicking. Noise disappears when foot is taken off accelerator (car still going above 50mph).

When you 'feather' the accelerator, noise is 'feathered' too.

Any ideas? much appreciated,

thanks

Welcome to the club Pearcey

Could you please update your profile so it shows which Rav you have? (Model, year, petrol/diesel etc)

You'll get help quicker if we know what car you've got! :D

I've read somewhere either here or on www.R4W.com that the heat shield can come loose or cause this kind on noise.....

Are you saying the noise is only when the vehicle is moving and not stationary...

I had the heat shield noise on my 94 and now have it ever so slightly on my 98 and it's definately not a clicking noise, actually sounds like a hole in the exhaust !!

My throttle pedal creaks

I spray it with wd40 every so often to fix

Have the same problem with my knees - doctor told me to lose weight so i started walking. 6 months later I had to go back with severe knee pain - he told me it was wear and tear!

On the engine thing, the heatshield can lose a bolt and cause vibration. Or it could be the neebur was stuck under the car whilst he was nicking yer petrol!

Some WD40 can do wonders on the knees.
