More than likely. When I changed my pads/discs, the EBC pads came with anti squeal shims too. nrgizerbunny produced a very detailed guide on changing pads/discs and has pictures illustrating where to apply the copper grease. Linky is >> Here <<

[it's only a 1.4 would you recommend upgrading the discs and pads or stick with toyota?

It depends on your driving style. Most people agree that the oe toyota discs and pads are terrible (when I replaced mine at 45k the pads were worn down to almost nothing and what was left of them had very large cracks running through them, so I was very glad to be rid of them. Personally if your discs are fine then I would simply say change the pads as and when you need to and invest in a half decent set that produce less dust and are slightly longer wearing too.

I did the discs and pads on mine, but I drive a CTS and that fairly demands that you put some effort into the whole driving experience so uprated brakes come in very useful :D

i drive a 1.4 too macdonb, and i am currently facing the same dilemma..... i'm going for EBC green stuff pads but still not sure what to do about the disk. not even sure if it needs to be changed or not. this is because i get slight but noticeable vibrations in the brake pedal (not the abs) when braking from high speeds. could this be due to the pads being worn out or are the disks warped?

thanks

I have had to break from high speed afew times quite recently and i must say there was no shudder or vibration in the pedal at all so maybe it's a warped disc?? I think i am going to buy the pads i want and get them fitted by Mr T and see if they can get rid of the squeal as i'm a bit nervous about touching the breaks.

what's the t-sport like to drive?

You know Mr T charges you 80 euro an hour for the pleasure of doing it.

I drove a 1.4 the last day. Not all that different to be honest, just if we both sank the boot at the same time you'd be looking at the back of my car fairly quickly.

Little bit harder also but not all that much

How do you find it on fuel? i'm throwin nearly 60 euro a week into the 1.4? thinking of bringing a t-sport in though. Is the lift at 6and a half rpm really as good as everyone says?? did you bring yours in from the uk??

Fill for 55, bout 300 to the tank, bit more if your on long runs, 360 was the best i ever got. Dont expect that if you hit lift all the time thou. Id be driving it handy most of the time.

I got my one in the UK, lift is good alright but you do have to work the engine to get the best from it. Nice kick in 2ed and 3ed.

Want to bring it in before july, 32% VRT after that!!!! 25% now
