Toyota Sub Woofer

Hi, I had an earlier post regarding installation of a sub woofer but I am in need of help still.

I need either the plug/connecter that goes in the back of the head unit or the whole loom, from sub to head unit.

The one I have has had the end cut off and I do not know how to re-wire it. The standard connector is pretty much idiot proof but I may have to resort to getting an audio electrician to fit it for me if no-one can help.

I got mine from an eBay seller who said the loom was available seperately, I have since found this not to be correct.

which wire?

the remote wire goes from head unit - amp

the power cable goes from amp - Battery

the speaker cable goes from headunit - amp/sub

the earth wire goes from amp - bolt

the sub speaker wire goes from sub - amp

The green wiring loom is used 2 connect rear Speakers as the head unit uses 2 lots already (dash and front door)

I hope i am not confusing the situation.

Hi Korny<

Yeah, bit confusing! The wiring loom that I have has six wires, that should have a plug on. This in turn, should go straight on the back of the standard stereo head unit.... Simple! BUT the previous owner's dad chopped off the plug to make removal easier! Now I need to either fit new plug or connect straight to stereo via blade connecters that are in the plug!

It is a Toyota product so should just have plugged in and routed cable and stuck sub woofer under drivers seat with velcro.

Thanks for contributing, though. I will see if I get any more advise before resorting to paying a fitter to fit a very simple job(!)

Now I don't know if you have the same unit as the one I posted the instructions for, but here's the pics of the cable i have:

at the sub end:

at the head unit end the cable is split and there are two connectors:

Hi, now that throws a diferent light on things!

I was under the impression that there was only one plug, not two at the head unit end. I deffo think I need expert help now, I am begining to wish I hadn't bothered bidding for the thing!

It is a bit different to the one from the Yarris accesories brochure but I was told it came from a Yaris and was fitted by an authorised dealer. Many, many thanks for your help on this.
