Lookin At An Mr2

hi,

I owned a celica gt but have now sold that. A friend is selling his Mr2 G-limited (imported car, So not too sure on spec) But a while ago it ran dry and overheated.

He re-filled it with water a few days later after leaving it standing and it drives again with no apparent loss of power.

But when i checked it yesterday, it took a little water to fill it, although, i couldn't actually see where the header tank is to see what the current level was at. But it started fine and ran fine.

No blue/black smoke.

No mayo on the oil filler cap. But, i left the water filler cap off and slowly could see some froth coming back up. does this mean the head gasket has gone?

Any advice or pointer would be greatly appreciated.

Dan

Stay away... There are many a cheap G-limited (import NA MR2's) on the market which are in working order.

How much is he asking for the car?

Shame they have removed that section on the website as I'm sure it was.

£200 just to strip down and sell I say!

Oh well,

I bought it! topped the water up and it runs ok. No apparent loss of water, no smoke etc. all good so far, so maybe the HG hasn't failed after all!

Just have problems with drivers door central locking not locking passenger door, yet works fine from passenger side and the electric ariel doesnt want to work...i've fitted my own sony HU tonight.
