Remote Locking Keys

Thanks to everyone who replied to my last note, really helpful. I now realise that the problem is that i do not have the remote locking type key. I was supplied by the dealer a standard Toyota key and a copy of a key. Does anyone know if you can get these keys and if so where from? I will try the dealer but its a supermarket type so doubt how helpful they will be

Send a PM to Parts-King, he may be able to get you the key cheaper as he gives discounts to TOC members who register on his website

You would still need to have the key programmed to the car :)

They are gonna cost

If you only have the grey service key, You will need a new ECU as well, You cannot code more keys without owning a main key (i.e. one with buttons built in), These keys open up the circuit to code additional ones, The grey one is a sub key

I would guess your spare one does not start the car ?

Dont expect much change from £1000

Had to change the locks etc when a set of keys to my better half's Rav4.2 were stolen earlier this year. The whole thing (new barrels for steering/ign, driver's door and rear door) plus whatever they had to do to the immobiliser cost €900 :o

best thing to do is reflash the ecu save having to change the locks and also give you the three keys as if you bought it from new from toyota 1 x master key 1x sub master and 1 x valet key
