K&n Panel Air Filter (part No: 33-2253)

Hi All

Can anyone that has used this replacement filter get back to me about these queries please:

1. Is this the correct part no? I have obtained it from filterpower.co.uk. If so, is it as easy as removing old toyota filter and slotting this one in and fits exactly in the box?

2. From a cost point of view, I was quoted £47 including delivery, is this a good price?

3. What are the advantages? Have you noticed any noticeable changes in power, MPG, tone when LIFT is hit?

4. How often does it need to be cleaned, and is it easy enough to do?

5. Are there any insurance implications? Did you inform your insurer? If so, how much of an impact did it have on your premium?

Thanks in advance to all those who reply.... ;)

Regards

Yatesh

Hi there,

1: Not sure on the part number - but I can check when I get home as I still have the box. Yes it is as simple as removing the old filter and putting the K&N one in.

2: The cost sounds about right (Well it does from what I remember paying, but that was quite a while ago).

3: The only tangible advantage is that it lasts longer. I take all the other claims with a pinch of salt.

4: I think they are supposed to be guarenteed for 50k or 100k miles. Periods between cleaning will probably depend on how much pollution etc is in the area where you drive. I think I've only done about 15k miles on mine, but it still looks pretty clean.

5: No need to inform your insurer as it is a consumable item.

there was a K&N panel filter in me GXi when i picked it up..... threw it straight in the bin!

Fensport will do the Blitz panel filter for £25. Gonna order the TRD one as i'm not keen on these oily filters - works out more expensive as the TRD filter is dry and needs replacing when it gets dirty.

I spoke to Tony at Fensport and on the 2zz a replacement panel is worth about 2bhp but it fits in with me other mods i have planned........
