Clutch Clatter

Hi guys,

Any ideas? I own a '93 2.4 manual LN130 Surf.My clutch pedal started staying depressed recently, although the gears still changed,I had to put my toe under the peddle and flick it back up.This happened intermitently.I started it up the other day and when I depressed the clutch it sounded like I was draggin tin cans and no I hadn't just got wed.Even when on the move it sounds like stones rattling in a can,the sounds coming from the bell housing and the pedals getting weaker. All help much appreciated. :crybaby:

PS: It had a new clutch a year or so ago, local garage who had a right game with it.Got a solid flywheel but they said they couldn't fit it ????

Well to answer my own question and to inform anyone else who may suffer the same problem heres what caused the clatter. The duel mesh flywheel had collapsed. Two of the springs had disintegrated. As luck would have it though,I had the afore mentioned solid flywheel in the shed that the garage said they couldn't fit.My mate and I crawled under it in the street and fitted it in half a day. Most of that time though was spent trying to relocate the gearbox back into position, what a caper, especialy lying underneath the truck. At £60 to my mate though it was a bargain and it runs better than ever now, apart from the over heating that is  Don't ya just love 'em?
