Radio Without Key In Ignition

This might be a really stupid question but why cant i turn on radio wuthout the key in the ignition? Every other car (and van ) Ive owned you could turn radio on and it would turn itself off after an hour I dont really want to leave key in ignition all time if Im not in the car. I agree. This is the first car I have owned where this is the case. Bit of a pain.....................

Totally agree -first car I've ever had that works like this . Means you can't leave the kids enterntained for 5 mons while you buy a paper/pay for petrol
