Is it possible?... I've read that you can't do it as it gets too hot, I've read than you can do it with manifold paint... so I'm a bit unsure what I should do.. anyone know if it can be done and if so what I should use?

i use VHT (availiable from halfrauds) spray on and if you use the silver one it looks like aluminium.

it will come off in time but all that is needed is a quick wire brush and another coat and its fine again

I painted one once with manifold paint, its burnt off on the first run...

Then again I have had tubos white hot, all manifold headers bright yellow and the downpipe running under the car cherry red :P

'Struth, sounds like a Jotul wood burning stove I had in a previous house - inside the door it said "If stove glows cherry red, you are overfiring" !!

One of the old fitter's at work did a beautiful job of painting a very large steam turbine with hammerite!

The paint burnt off within minutes of starting it up

But he was days away from retiring.....so didn't care really :lol::lol:
