Getting 1.4 D-4d Chipped In Nw?

Am aware that there is another post ref this not too far down the page but basically I am after getting it done for me rather than a self-install.

I have a 90 bhp 1.4 D-4D Corolla (T2 - 05 Plate) and given the small BHP I have been seriously considering going back to a Ford Focus for the extra power. However I have absolutely no mechanical knowledge at all and would not consider installing one of these myself.

Are there any reputable organisations on the North West UK (Merseyside/Cheshire) that can chip my Corolla up to (I believe) 110 BHP?

For those who have had it done does it interfere in any way with the car's Engine Management System or reliability? I need my car for work and the reason I bought a Toyota was the reliability.

Thanks in advance.

Paul

Hi Paul

I have a 2006 Yaris D4D. It is fitted with a PSI Powerbox and the difference is marked. I fitted it myself and it took about 10 mins and I am no mechanic. I recently removed it to allow one of the kids to use the car and standard the car felt sluggish and dull.

With the box in place it is quick and punchy and will keep pace with Accord Ctdi, Bmw 320d etc. As far as I know, it only increases the amount of fuel delivered at the injectors so, in theory should be reliable as it does not mess about with turbo boost like a re-map would.

In short, do it!

Alan
