Bad Cold Starting Previa

Got a problem with cold starting petrol previa, ive replaced plugs dizzy cap and rota , from

cold it just turns over with little or no spark then it eaither flattens the Battery or starts

but it feels very rich with some black smoke out the rear, after it has started from cold

it is ok for the rest of the day but it takes a few turns to start , this happened all of a sudden

after a clean with the power washer , but i think this was coincidence .

is there any known starting problems with this bus

I had this exact same trouble also after doing a power wash. I took off the dizi cap and disconnected all the associated wiring connectors also from the other side of the engine around the throttle body and just left everything to dry over the weekend. Everything was fine after that.

Word of advice DO NOT use a BluePrint or Intermotor dizi cap. Rather pay the £18 for a Toyota cap. The centre carbon brush on the aftermarkets ones can seize up breaking contact with the rotor arm.
