Eskimo Corolla

Hi,

I've had loads of different Carinas and Corollas but mut admit to being very new to this forum.

My girlfriend's father has a mid 90's Corolla with a 4EfE engine. It normally sounds happy and, when cold, jumps to life (don't they all!). However, he has found that it doesn't like starting from hot. It turns over fine but won't fire. Plenty of un-burned petrol coming out the exhaught and can eventually splutter it's way into starting. Throws out loads of oil smoke and steam if it's luck to start. When left to cook it starts reliably.

would be grateful for any ideas.

check the plugs, the 4E-FE uses a very bizarre type of spark plug which aren't easily re-gapped, you might need some replacements
