well yesterday i was out and about cruising in the nice weather so i decided to go to the track of course lol, and had the pleasure of being left for good by a gorgeous jag XKR, he had the roof down too posing lol was with him on 3 straights he was away so easily, great cars, wasnt disapointed as i know whats under their bonet and i was with him when he was slowing for the bends then after the bend he would be away again.

what i was disapointed about was the fact i couldnt keep up with a octavia vrs, he was infront of me coming from a bend but wasnt far infront but he kept creeping away, dont see how this was happening, was very disapointed.

Indeed a gorgeous day for the track mate!

The Octavia should be really quite similar in performance, but could have had a few tweaks itself so I wouldn’t worry too much! Can't they be chipped to over 200BHP??

A race prepared Octavia VRS would eat your Corolla T- Sport for breakfast.

Of course it would possibly be a bit different if the Octavia was a standard road going car.

You should have asked the driver when you had your post race pit stop and de-brief. BTW.........which track did you use?

Jag XKR's are awesome, one of very few cars i really like

The Octavia VRS is a very popular choice of Track policing tool in your area Daz... You didnt state what age it was, a friend of mine has an 04 1.8 which is chipped to 240 BHP and is obviously a quick car, i would assume the 2.0 cars are easily tuned as the Leon with that engine is at 240 BHP out of the factory.

i caught up with the octavia to start with then couldnt get passed it, had a decent exhaust on it dont know if theyre standard. dont know what it is about my car but it doesnt seem as fast anymore, lift aint as furious as it used to be or maybe im just used to it. also since i had my tyres changed to eagle f1's about 3 weeks ago my TRC aint kicked in once and ive had my wheels spinning many times and took some bends hard. i want to meet another t sport to see if its the same power wise but ive only ever seen 2 and 1 of them was parked up.

never thaught id say it but im starting to think of getting another car :(

My mate had a vrs, both his and mine were standard. Nothing in it on the straight, he'd leave me in the bends thou, poor old corolla just leans over to much.

VRS is a very good car and you get a lot for your money. Its a quicker every day car also, power is down low compared to the CTS.

I think people sort of forget them because of the Badge on the front, id have one.

They blow turbos thou, and coils go. Think they have a prob with oil sludge if they are not looked after. Was looking at them when buying the corolla, those reasons put me off.

If i had my money again would prob take the chance

:chair: Go wash your mouth out!!

Is it due a service? Air filter dirty? Poor batch of fuel? etc etc

Don't give up on it just yet!!

Funnily enough, since having my exhaust repaired i've noticed a difference in performance, not much but there seems to be more of a kick to Lift!! :D

In this warm weather the poor old CTS does seem a bit slower than usual (lets leave the physics of hot air alone!) and with the Air Con on she does struggle a bit more than usual low down the rev range.

my car was due a service at 20k miles or x amount of years, its now at 21k miles, shall be getting serviced on the 25th although ive got a holiday next month so im a little stuck for cash, my air filter is a typhoon so cant see anything being wrong with that and i always fill with v power. maybe some new oil may help, also think one of my break pads is rubbing on the disk as when i go very slow i think i can hear it.

my car is still hitting the same mph just before redline in each gears as before i.e 1st gear 44mph 2nd gear 65ish etc just not sure if its hiting them as quick.

borodaz buy a compressor for your rolla if you want go faster.

soon you will lose your drivers license, like i did in "track racing...", but i got it back already. :)

now that i have d2 coils and 19" rims i don't even want go faster, because our roads in Finland are so S***!

maybe my next car is fast.. mk4 supra... hmmm... it would be nice...
