Aygo Clutch Problem

Just google Aygo clutch problems and numerous entries come up.

Same for any make or model, just do your search and replace 'Aygo' with any other car and you will get a load of search results. If you google 'clutch problems' the main ones which come up are; Ford Focus, Ford Ka, Ford Fiesta, Honda Civic, Peugoet 107, Rover 75.

Another search just putting a few brands that first came into my head, gave me the following results; Renault clutch problems - results brought up - Scenic, Laguna and Trafic, Vauxhall clutch problems - many vauxhall models came up, Audi A4, Volkswagen Polo and Golf. I could go on but you get the idea.

Any brand/model you put into a search, with a certain problem such as clutch, will of course bring up many results.

2 of my cousins have Aygos and they've had no clutch problems.

Just done as stated google.co.uk "clutch Problems" after two sponsored links no manufacturers names appear mainly help videos and how to sites but at number ten is this forum link "aygo clutch problems"!!!

Do you work in any way for Toyota ?

It can be the same for any car, I had a fiesta that had an engine sensor fail, a fiesta that had water and oil mixing, a fiat that had an intermittent injector problem, another fiat with a leaking petrol tank, a ford focus with injector problem and ABS unit failed, a corsa with an ABS problem and new shocks after 10000 miles, the lst goes on

If I did not buy another car because of a fault then I would be walking to work! Cars are not full proof, then break, so you should get more that 35000 from a clutch, but 1000`s of people do, people usually join forums to complain. It might be the way you drive ( yes I know you will say its not!) might be a fault, might be many things, but all cars have problems, just fix it and move on!

No I don' work Toyota, I am just a realist!

Slightly off topic ?

Ormi......

"...at home its prob a 3 hour job at my work we all get them done in around 1.5 hours..very simple to do and the gear box isnt heavy...you can carry it around with one hand.."

Have you ever done an MMT?

Can you replace the 180mm clutch with one of the new 190mm versions?

Is it the usual clutch job at home......ie......prise driveshafts out (or is there another method) ......Disconnect all

electrical parts......gearbox off......clutch swap, back together.

Do I need to go to Toyota to have the new clutch initalised for MMT?

I was considering removing the front bumper to prevent any "accidents".

Any special advice for an MMT clutch swap?

Cheers.

Ian.

removing the bumper will have no affect on nothing...you also shouldnt damage it either the box comes down the way..and yes you can use the bigger clutch mate..but you'll need it2 to set the clutch up..

Do you work in any way for Toyota ?

Peter,in reply to your question,No I do not work for Toyota in any way. I am only a Toyota customer, that is all, although you may already have your mind made up. The only people I know of on TOC who work for Toyota are Kingo and Ormi.

In a google search for 'clutch problems' there are 'how to' videos which appear first but at the bottom of that page the list I already mentioned can be seen. Here is a screenshot of my google.uk search, which I did not filter by location of UK only post-110718-0-33409300-1315124354_thumb.but still searched under GoogleUK. I do not pay any attention to 'how to videos' as they are of no interest to me,as I am not a DIYer.

A google search filtered to UK only brings up Honda,Ford Mondeo,Peugoet 206 under the subheading of the second result as you can see for yourself under my screenshot post-110718-0-98419700-1315124755_thumb.

Further down the same page of that search brings up,in the order they appear,Fiat,Vauxhall Zafira,Fiesta(twice),Corsa,Peugeot 206,Subaru.Again see for yourself in my screenshot post-110718-0-01114500-1315125102_thumb.

Last part of the same page of that search shows Ford Focus and Kia post-110718-0-51004000-1315125215_thumb.

I normally use Bing as my search engine as its part of the toolbar on my computer but used Google as recommended by Tilly2. A general 'Clutch problems' search on Bing brought up the following, in the order that they appear:

Mini,Freelander(twice),Seat,Mini(again),Nissan X Trail,Renault. At the bottom of the page under the heading Related Searches shows Ford,Peugoet206,Mini,Land Rover Discovery and Vauxhall Vivaro.Again,in case you think I'm lying see for yourself on the following links

Sorry for making everyone else bored by this long post but it had to be done in reply to Peter's post. I wasn't going to look like a liar nor was I going to have him say I work for Toyota when I don't.

Thanks for your time and effort to reply links show as you say - on investigation google responses differ from each ISP (computer geek advised me)

Anyway back to the point in hand - SUCCESS - Toyota GB rang me today following telephone conversation during which I mentioned things like " product must be of merchantile quality, suitable for purpose sold, if design is faulty warranty period is negated" Which comsumer association advice, with letter treatened for "Practice Direction on Pre-Action Conduct" (from Which website) to commence action via county court They offered to pay for the replacement clutch just have to send invoice, expected a much longer battle.
