I have been experiencing problems with my gearbox, and I just wondered whether other people with Aygo's have experienced the same problem?

Occasionally my gearbox will not allow me to go into third or fourth. It is not because the revs aren't high enough because believe me I have revved it as high as possible to get into third. The power seems to drop and then thats when it fails to go into third.

I can go from 1-2,2-4,4-5th and miss out three. But then other times I have to do the same but miss out 4 and go from 3 to 5.

It is extremely annoying and only happens occasionally. The car is a 57 plate, so it is not even that old.

I have told Toyota, but of course because it only happens occasionally (normally for about a week and then it goes for a month or so) when I took the car in, they couldn't find anything wrong with it when they drove it and when they looked at the gearbox.

I got a new car so i wouldn't experience these problems, so it would just be interesting to see if this has happened to any of you.

Any suggestions as I am now wary about going on roadtrips, just for the fear that it is going to happen again and that the whole gearbox could fail!?

Thanks

Sorry to hear of your troubles. My Platinum is 3 months old & I've had no problem at all with the gears. I would go back to the dealer again if you are not fully satisfied, keep on their case - as you say, you buy a new car to avoid these sort of problems. Good luck with it - let us know how you get on.
