Hey

Im looking at getting i new air filter. Just a new panel filter. Does it make any difference to power or noise?

Also i would like to lower my celica vvtli 190 by about 30mm. Can i get away with just springs or do i need shocks as well? Has anyone got any pictures of their GEN 7 lowered celicas?

Cheers

John

A Panel filter will give negligable power gains with no increase in noise.

A 30mm drop will be fine on stock shocks as long as they are in good condition, they will however wear alot

quicker with the shorter springs. Most people change their shocks at the same time as it saves having to tear

the suspension apart again to replace the shocks a year or two down the line when they finally give up.

Anything more than 30mm & you need specialist shortened shocks.

Make sure you have a 4 wheel laser alignment done after the springs have settled down (1-2 weeks) as all your cambers

will be way out after lowering.

A couple of pics of my car with 30mm Eibach pro springs & koni yellow adj. shocks.

I brought mine from http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/ who were cheapest at the time.

If your after a bargin though, there's a group buy running on http://www.celica-club.co.uk for Tein super street coilovers

with pillow ball upper mounts for just over £600.An absolute steal when you concider that koni adjustable shocks are over

£100 each!

Fitting is easy enough if you've got some decent tools. The rears are a bit fiddly but totally do-able by yourself. There are a

few install guides scattered around the web, I think there's one on newcelica.org IIRC.
