I've registered on the Citroen Owners Club, but no offense to them, it doesn't look that big/busy.

Seeing at the Aygo and 107 and the C1 are all the same, I thought I'd look here.

Basically, my Girlfriend has a 07 reg C1 1.0L Ryhthm. I drove it for the 1st time the other night and was suprised with it. Nice nippy motor, but the amount of body roll is unreal!

So I'm now thinking of getting a ARB/Strut Brace for it. Where can I get one from? I've seen a picture of an Aygo with one on, so assume they're out there.

I also wating to spray the interior trim red (vent surrounds etc). Are these dealer parts, or is it a DIY job?

No doubt I may be along to ask more questions in the future

Hi, welcome to the forum.

With regards to the strut brace I know OMP list one. These can be purchased from companies like Demon Tweeks or I have seen a few advertised on eBay. I know Banzai Joe has one fitted to his. I think his came from a German firm. You could do a search on the forum and send him a PM to find out more information.

Spraying the interior trim is easy. I did mine as have many others. It's easy to do with a couple of spray cans. Just take your time and let the coats dry properly.

If you have anymore questions, the folks on here are a friendly bunch and are normally only too willing to help.

Cheers

ARB yes, although I don't know who makes a stiffer one, but I wouldn't have thought a strut brace would make much difference.

You could also look at stiffer, lower springs and maybe dampers if you can find any.

I was thinking of getting Coilys for it. Someone on Citroen Owners Club says the suspension is fine, its the tyres that cause the hugh body roll and that lower profile would reduce it. That sounds ok, but coilys would make it better still.

I don't want to go down the road of "just springs", I've put lowering springs on my Ibiza, and after about 4 months or so, the shockers are goin and the ride is bad, although the handleing is amazing lol. I don't want the same to happen to her shockers (mine had a lot of mileage TBH, but still, lowering springs on standard shockers aint good lol). So IMO, coilys is the option to go for. Just need to see if she wants them.

Hi there Mat welcome to the TOC

To answer your question, there are Citroen C1-specific coilovers on the market made by a german company called FK Automotive however they don't stock them (probably operate on a special order request kinda thing as i doubt many will be THAT modified to warrant coilovers) i'm unsure of who could import them in for you - again as previously mentioned probably worth giving Demon Tweeks a call to see if they can get it all sorted for you...

You mar or may not know this but the rear suspension of the Aygo/107/C1 is a trailing arm set-up so, like buying coilovers for a Citroen Saxo or Peugeot 106, the rear damper/springs are not a single combo unit but two separate items whereas the front units are complete items (of which you can adjust them like you would on front coilovers for your Ibiza) However as far as adjustment for the rears would go, im outwith my talent area here!

To be honest, it could possibly be worth investing in the Toyota Lowering Springs which were designed specifically to work with the OE dampers on an Aygo so, POSSIBLY, it could work on a C1 or 107 although, to cover my ***** with liability etc, i cant confirm this as obviously i dont own either of the french variants.

Hope this helps

Cheers fella,

good things to consider there. As I may or may not have said on here, I'm a BIG fan of all things VAG, and like to think I know quite a bit about that range of cars, but coming over to this "family" is new ground, so I'm kinda learnin "what's what" so to speak.

Will look into the lowering springs when I get chance, also trying to convince her to spend about £4,500 on a Supercharger conversion lol

I'm aware of all the manufacturers within the VAG group (VW, Audi, Skoda & Seat) however a quick google search reveals that the Toyota Group are: -

1) Toyota

2) Lexus

3) Scion (USDM Brand)

4) Daihatsu (through a Majority shareholding)

However obviously with relation to the Aygo, i doubt any of the parts within the groups would be able to fit our cars like VAG cars can interchange parts from other cars!

ah, cheers.

I knew Toyota and Lexus were essentially the same, but wasn'tr aware of Scion and Daihatsu. Cheers for the knowledge
