Can anyone help?

We are considering buying a 2004 53 reg Rav4 2.0 XT4 5dr for £8,995.00. It has 45,000 miles on the clock and appears to be in good condition. Is there anything I should be looking out for or any known problems with this model.

Also whats the fuel consumption like and does anyone happen to know the boot capacity with the seats in (we have a two year old so come with LOTS of baggage  ).

Any advice or comments on car performance/reliability would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Kitcat

we have an 04 xt3 had it from new and it has been completly trouble free. 28k now

it has a large boot and will take 4 large suitcases.

average mpg arroud town is 35 and on a long motorway run we can easy get 45

it is a diesel

buy it you can't go wrong but make sure you get a warranty.

Never had any trouble getting all the holiday stuff, including all our two year old lad's kit and caboodle in the back of our 4.3 RAV. I can't imagine that it would be much different in the 4.2 RAV that you are looking at.

Good Luck

as an update I took two teenagers to the download festival yesterday, in the boot 48 cans of beer two tents two folding chairs four rucksaks (1 large 3 small) 1 cool bag two sleeping bags and a trolley to carry some of it. All went in the boot without any problem. The back seats can be moved further forward leaving more space in the boot and still with enough room for two teenagers in the back.

Great thanks to all for advice.

Do you think the price is reasonable?

Dunno - try looking at eBay for comparisons. The newspapers yesterday were going on about 2nd hand car prices set to fall due to the road tax changes and fuel rises. So try haggling on the price.

Or you could always hire a window smasher, then suggest to them that the price should be much lower just in case the showroom windies get smashed again....?
