Waxing New Paintwork

Hi

Having a new back door fitted to my 4.2 - skin? - Anyway, I wondered how long, if at all, I should wait untill I wax my car. Sure I read somewhere about paint having to harden properly etc.

Sounds daft, but just checking.

Thanks

Hi Notebook. I'm no expert, but recently had my old bike tank and covers resprayed by an absolute artist (Stefan) who used a candy paint. The results are brilliant (it looks as if you can put your finger into the paint, there's so much "depth" to it) and he told me to leave it a week before waxing it. When my better half's 4.2 had a panel repair which involved a respray to the NSR door, plus some blending into the adjacent panels, I also left it a week before using a carnuaba wax P21S by "concours-look". I am very pleased with the results on both.
