Hi all i have a avensis D4D with 128,000 miles as my mini cab bought it 6 months ago. A couple of weeks ago i started realising that in the mornings on a cold engine there is excessive grey and a little black smoke whilst driving. This last for about 7-8 minutes until the engine warms up after that its fine.

Even when i acceralte a little it just start smoking even around 2.2-2.5 RPM

There is a little lack of power in the mornings but once warmed up its all normal with very little smoke.

ANY IDEAS??

hi

there were many issues + remedies on to this forum --- you'd better read them thru.

OK - -your problem is with all injectors -- have nem all tested.

thanks/Igor

hi

I booked a diagnostic with the toyota dealership in my local area, 20minz later they told me that the cars fine and is running how it should be running. The only excuse they gave me is that its an old car wid high millage . But i dont think that a 4 year old toyota is old at all especially with only 128,000 miles on a diesel. I told him that these toyota diesels are fully capable of doing at doing 200,000 miles easily which ive seen on many occasions on other mini cabs. its the reason y toyota's r the most popular mini cab driven.

I then booked another diagnostic with a diesel specialist in my local area. Just after 15minz of looking at my car he told me straight away that the intercooler boost pipe had split. £200 later the cars fine an running beautifully with no smoke at all and driving around with a minimum of 47MPG.

hi

you've got minor problem with booster pipe - it is simple to rectify than test all injectors.

cheers/Igor
