Hello everyone,

As many of you will know I was stuck on a decision as to whether to get rid of my car and get another or spend some money on changing the rolla to keep it fresh.

Well decision made! I am keeping the rolla for 1 - 1 1/2 years more and I have been busy buying parts :yahoo: , here is the list of to-do's

1) I have bought a TTE front bumper, TTE fog lights, replacement grille (to cover the side fins), a new front Badge and getting it painted hopefully during next week. (thanks to John @ Lindops AKA Parts-King, CK-man, -T-Sport and all the advice given on the forum for all your help)

2) Bought some black satin Hammerite to paint the calipers (to get rid of the rust!)

3) I have decided to lower the car aswell so will be looking to get the TTE springs very soon.

4) Looking at putting my Kahn RSV's back on the car aswell, refurbed them myself with a graphite finish but need to get a buckle taken out of one alloy. Going to put my Pirelli P Zero Nero tyres on.

Can't wait till it all comes together! Should have the bumper on by next week and paint the calipers, will of course keep everyone updated with pics when complete!

The TTE bumper won't suit your car at all!

I'm quite happy to remove the hassle of you fitting it only to realise that and remove it again.

Let me know when's convienient to take it off your hands!!

  • 3 weeks later...

Right a few things have changed since I last updated this thread.

1) The Kahn alloys are going in a skip!

The Kahns are going to the scrappy for £28 :( as one was buckled beyond safe repair and the other three have slight buckles in them that would cost £40 a wheel to remove the buckle! So Kahns are gone and I am looking for another set of 17's without tyres.

2) New Double Din touch screen headunit and underseat sub .

My Toyota Sub has packed up - and after paying Mr T £26 to investigate the problem and tell me it is broken with the advice 'tap it and it will work for a while' :ffs: - but hey ho this is a good excuse to a new headunit and a new sub to plug in the back of it.

3) TTE bumper is painted and ready to go on - just waiting for the fogs, grille and Badge to arrive.

4) TTE springs are on hold until I get enough money - just booked a hol to New York and Vegas for my bday with the misses!

I ll get a pic as soon as it is on the car! I am hoping the colour will give it an extra kick as it shows the darker grille more and looks more agressive.

I am still gutted about my Kahns, I am taking a £220 loss on them :( but better to get rid then to stick them on eBay and give someone else hassle.

I have bought the double din headunit from eBay, eonon one 7" touch screen with DVD player, built in TV, sd slot, aux socket etc etc so will be finally able to plug my ipod in and my passengers can watch DVD's on long trips. And the misses can watch eastenders without me rushing back so she dont miss it!

Bought a double din fascia kit from America that should be here soon also.

I ll update with pics when I recieve all the goodies and then when I fit them. Just need to choose a sub and wheels now. :)

Does that mean by any chance that the Toyota wiring loom would be available?

:D

TTE springs are now out of the equation!

Called up my insurance company (Direct Line) and they have said that if I lower the car they will refuse to insure me as I am under 25 years of age :ffs:

Insurance is up for renewal in a month so I think I will look elsewhere also.

Try Performance Direct,

I just insured my T180 with them for £525.

My insurer who I was with previously for many years wouldnt give me a price lower than £1500 that was after the initial quote of £2000!!!

Performance direct seem to be very competitve with a whole host of performance vehicles.

I had the same problem with wanting to put a performance chip onto my Rolla, and i wasnt up for renewal untill June next year, but i managed to find cheaper insurance by almost £200 and I can get the parts installed... Try Admiral they were quite good...

Miles
