Bleeping Noises

hi,all, if the reverse gear bleeps aren't enough to contend with, then the radio bleeps when notifying travel up-dates which is great and useful but i've been experiencing 3 or 4 bleeps in succession at any given time but mainly when going around roundabouts or sharp corners- is this a warning or to let me know that traction control is working? it happens so rarely i forget about it till it happens and then drive along totally perplexed!

if any-one has had the same sound or knows what it signifies any help would be greatly appreciated, regards ardbrand

It's the VSC telling you it's stopping you from going sideways.

It's all detailed in the manual.

That was the clue I missed :D

Slowing down will stop the bleeps

I quite often get the skid warning lights on, that doesn't always bring on the VSC beeps.

Push it harder :P Or don't. whatever

As i found out recently you have to really go for it to get the beeps of doom :)

Ha ha this is a good thread :P How hard to i have to try and kill myself before the Corolla notices! lol

I think the beeps are the cars way of letting you know the VSC is still working, on stopping you parking it in your neighbours tree or lawn, but that its at the limit of what it can do for the car.

When you get it beeping at you you know your probably either doing it very very right, or very very wrong! :D

need to find out how to disable the reversing beeps . they drive me mad lol!

You'd need to cut a wire to get the noise to stop, but if you do that i'd suggest you cut it and mount a switch somewhere so you can turn it on again.

Heard the "bleeps of doom" today. Now ordinarily i don't mind them because i hear them every wet day on the roundabout near home.....intentional fun. But today i was coming round a right-hand bend, not too fast, and the rear hops out a bit and she starts bleepin like a heart monitor on a hummingbird. Not too bad you saying, but the canal is literally 2 yards in front of ya as you go round.

Got that warm feeling ya used to get when you were young and ya knew ya done something wrong... What is it with the back of this car on a bumpy bend!!!??

I find that too TSporter, for a front wheel driven car it seems pretty tail happy!

Will need to go check my tyre pressures make sure everythings in order, theres nothing like a good splash of rain on a road that been bone dry for a few weeks to make your motor twitchy on the twisties...

Lol, and watch out for that canal mate!
