Performance Mods For The Celica

Ok guys I pick up my Celica the morra, its an 05 1.8 vvti (140 bhp)

Just wondering what mods are out there that would help me gain a bit more power out my wee beastie (if of course there are any you would recommend)

The only real things ive seen so far are induction kit and full exhaust system with manifold.

Is there anything else?

theres not alot you can do to 140 without spending serious money you would be better off selling and getting a 190 toyota have pretty much given you wot you can get out the 140

im planning on upgrading to the 190 is it really that much better ? i havnt test drove one yet but id imagine they would frown on me if i was to redline it during a test drive lol ive heard u really have to rag the 190 more so than the 140

ive driven both and theres not much difference until you hit lift in the 190 then you will have a smile on your face but if its real power then its got to be gt4 if thats wot your after but with fuel prices as they are id be happy with a 190 :D

nah not bothered bwt fuel prices my company pays for most my fuel lol. sorry if this sounds dumb but ive not really heard of the gt4 what is it still a gen 7 celica ?

Gt4 is versions of the gen4,5 and 6 celica's made from 88-94 IIRC (fairly old cars) they were made for rallying and have AWD and turbochargers. They are the most powerful celica's generally with anywhere from 190hp-250+ depending on year and specs. But with my personal experience they use a LOT of gas although you already said this wasn't an issue.

ah right well i dont really like the look of any other celica apart from the gen 7. id never really liked them before the gen 7 came out. celica gts thats a gen 7 isnt it whats that just a modded 190?

GTS's are the import models of the Gen 7.

The UK did produce a swansong Gen 7 that they named the GT which was a T-Sport (190) on steroids. Well body steroids anyway - they forgot to add anything to the power.

I wouldn't bother putting anything on the 140 to make it go faster - Toyota are pretty good at having the Celicas run to their optimum then people come along and screw them up with engine mods that don't do anything noteworthy but force the Engine Management Light to pop on. you would need to spend a bomb on stuff like superchargers or Turbos to get serious notable change on the Gen 7.
