Non-slip Storage Inserts

Does anyone know of any inserts available for the various storage areas in the Auris?

Failing that, any recommendations for getting hold of sheets of thin non-slip material that I can cut to shape?

I've had enough of the bits and pieces sliding around in the glove boxes/underseat stray etc sliding about whenever I go around corners!

[We have used a non slip cut to size material from wilkinsons/diy - it has small holes in and can be used for any non slip purpose - I don' know the name of it though but picture below!

There's a chain of stores around here called "Home Bargains" that sell the anti-slip stuff in rolls or either white/cream or black.

I brought a roll of black non stick stuff for my auris and use it in the glovebox, and in the tray under the "Bridge" (to stop my mobile rattling around), all cut to shape from templates I made from card. The whole roll cost around £1.50, and I still have some left!

This is the stuff that I was thinking about.

I've just grabbed my mobile and got the stuff out of the kitchen drawer.

Doobs I doubt Home Bargains have a web-site, it's more the sort of store that if you see something you like you grab it while you can!

A yell.com search show that the Home Bargains stores are all 'oop north', Yorkshire / Lancashire mainly it seems. Shame as that stuff looks ideal.

Have to pay some of the DIY stores or Wilkos a visit and see if Doobs' stuff is around.

If I get chance to walk in to the village this weekend I'll have a look and see if Home Bargains have any of that Anti-Slip material, and if it has any brand name on it. I'll check the price too if it's on sale as I don't want you getting ripped off.

I would offer to try and get you some, but with the price of postage these days it would probably make that option stupidly expensive.

They are all around Cheshire too, If i have a look in my local on on Saturday, i will see if i can find any, and buy as many rolls as I can then post some around IF you want me to look! and are willing to pay the £1.50 an item plus pnp. i am not looking to make a profit from this just to be nice i guess :)

I'll have a look around the Wilko/Woolworths suggestions and otherwise I'll be back to take you up on that offer! :)

  • 5 months later...

Found some good non-slip storage inserts, and I can tell you the name too.

It's Magic Stop and there's three different sizes of them: 15x50cm, 30x150cm and 80x100cm.

They're like these but with slightly different pattern.

You should find them in your local shops which sell everything for the home...

This is the best picture of Magic Stop storage inserts I found on the Internet:

These can work well I guess but on my previous car I did something similar I had no use for the hash tray since I don't smoke and the small opening was perfect to put the mobile there off course it was sliding all around once even flew out like a rocket lol anyway I bought some material which is similar to foam. It has a sticker on one side. You can cut it to fit and its mainly used to put under furniture so that they don't scratch the floor, place it on walls to protect it from door bumps etc... Of course its with sticker but you can use it or not but I guess the piece will slide without being glued. Anyway it worked very well on my other car. They sell several sizes I still have some left at home
