is it a 2.0 or 1.8, 2.0 wise i've heard of several turbo conversions through the net, mostly straight swaps for gt4 or mr2 engines, i dont remember hearing of any 1.8s tho, but any engine will take a turbo, just make sure if your going to a garage to have it fitted that you hve thoroughly researched the garage, cause you dont wanna be handing over your car and hard earned cash to people who dont neccessarily know what there doing, especially where any kind of boost is involved, if you are planning to do it yourslef, then just make sure you dont rush anything, and remember the words of ab lincoln "if i had 6 hours to chop down a tree i would spend the first 4 sharpening my axe", preparation and research is the key to all things

either way i recommend you research turbo application as much as possible, even if you just take your car to a garage and hand over your money, its a good idea to know about it, that way your more likely to get what you want and such knowledge would come in handy once its done, also as idont know how old you are, get an insurance quote before you start, my mate was going to turbo his primera, and made loads of plans, and eventually after about 4 weeks of me bugging him got a quote and nobody would cover him, though fortunately he hadnt started buying parts

if its a 2.0 then it should be reasonably easy, you could probably bolt on a load of gt4 parts, what we were gonna do when my mate wanted to turbo his car, was to fit a pulsar manifold, and turbo, make up some custom inlet piping and fit a FMI, fit a set of forged low comp pistons (possible from a pulsar, though my mate has a habit of wanting to spend more than neccessary on his car), and then piggy back the ecu, and slap a dump valve in there, and i think that was pretty much it, but we never really made finalised plans cause he couldnt get insurance, maybe a similar thing would work for a 3sge, though you'd probably want to look at cooling, fuel pressure and injectors, and you want to have a good look at the condition of the engine, if its high mileage and getting a bit tired then a turbo might not be a good idea, though 3sge are generally pretty sturdy,

good luck with it what ever you do,

also generally the best people to talk to about 3sgtes is fensport, if you do build one might be worth seeing if you can have a chat to them about it
