Front Brakes

Hi

I have got a 54 Corolla T-Spirit 1.4 VVTi. After having done a 160 mile trip, there is a problem with the driver side front disc brake as it has gone rusty but all the rest are polished.

Please can you tell me why this has happened and the best solution.

p.s. I am thinking of purchasing Rossini Brake discs. Can anybody tell me what they are like.

Thanks

Not to sound rude, but for your standard car you don't need to upgrade your brakes. its an expensive task for nothing to gain but whiplash.

If your gonna add a lot of power to you car and use it on the tracks then thats a different story, but i wouldn't go for Rossini, i'd go for something like Brembo as these are used all over now for track racing and I find them amazing on my cars (not got the on the rolla though)

No idea why it would have just happened to the one side.

Do you park you car on a dirve with a wall facing the nearside? Maybe the weather hits the drivers side of the car more?

If you're planning on getting new discs, Try EBC. Will cost you about £80 Including VAT & Next Day Delivery for the front discs.

Here's a link to the exact discs you'd need. (Discounts are taken off at the checkout!) I've actually just put them on my T-Sport. Some people love EBC, Some hate 'em. Each to their own :)

EBC are crap - that's why some of us dont like them. cheap discs that are prone to cracking and the pads arent good neither. they paint the pads bright colours to attract boy racer types but anyone in the know wont touch them. i have used there pads but was lucky enough not to try there discs but have seen many who have. if you search the forum you will see pics of how bad the discs are..........

As said, Each to their own, I know people elsewhere that swear by them.

I'll go from my own experiences on them once they're worn. The pads have always done me wonders in the past. I can't fault them.

I'll let you know how they fare. :P
