Ditched The Yaris For An Aygo. Loving It!

OK, Hi Everyone! First Post here!

I've had my Aygo Platinum for about a month now. Absolutely love the Aygo experience.

I have had 2 x Yaris' before trading the Yaris in for baby Aygo. I must admit, although I had test driven the Aygo on a couple of occasions, I was still a little sad to see my Yaris go. (I'm such a girl).

However, I had also test driven the 'newest' Yaris shape, & I definately knew that it felt too big for me. *coughs - rubbish at parking anything bigger than a pea - coughs*

Why did i decide on the Aygo, as opposed to the 107 or the other one, well I just preferred the styling & the Toyota dealership has been great over the years - so I'm a loyal girl as well as a soppy cow!

I live in Southampton, & also spend quite a bit of time in Pompey land (Portsmouth ;) ), so parking is an issue & also rush hour battles within city centres. I find the Aygo great for both these situations, sneaking through gaps while others are left behind, parking in nooks & crannies! LOL!

I've taken my Aygo on a few motorway trips with friends, & like me they're impressed with it's nippiness (is that a word?).

I love the fact I can pop my ipod shuffle on, & be entertained for hours. OK, the Aygo misses some of the extras my last Yaris had, but I don't actually miss them (like i thought i would) - as all the basics are there for me.

Am I pleased I made the change? - Hell yes.

Sorry I can't share a review which goes into the details of engines / oily bits etc, but hey - thought I'd share my pleasure!

So it looks like the Aygo is still blighted with the leaking issue, the local dealer near me said the issue had be solved by them switching to the seals used on the 107 You'd have thought they'd have sorted issues like this out after 3 years of production.

If I get any leaking problems I'll be logging any dealings I have with my dealer or Toyota as there is no way a new car that leaks can be considered "fit for purpose". I should get my car next week but after 20 years of using high mileage used cars with only a few problems I'm starting to get nervous that my first new car might be an expensive disappointment.

Welcome to the Club Anna - i too have an Aygo Platinum and im loving it as well!!

Its a shame to hear you're having the leaks - touchwood i haven't had any yet and the weather here is traditionally Scottish (i.e. constant rain LoL)

Sucks about the leak, I had it too but ever since Toyota replaced all the seals on warranty I havnt had any problems since.

I gather thats what they are doing for you (If not make them :D )

Any plans to add extras to the car?

I liked it until the last sentance - ;)

I have got the seals replaced (twice) & had new over door seal gutter thing fitted (not technical language - Sorry!).

I gave my Aygo a good thorough wash today - no leaks, & no leaks so far since the last replacements.
