ideally I want to use my powerhose with some cleaning fluid in the attachment.

I'm getting a dirt devil for the inside but what will I use for the outside?

Ones uses a bucket of water! some cleaning products, ie autogym, wheelygoodstuff, supaguard aftercare stuff etc, one rinses the car first to remove stones etc, then one (using a sponge - prefer to one with a fly tar remover and in a mit form!) washes the Aygo, and then uses a chammy (sp?) to dry it and then one polishes it with a wax. One also now wear wellies and apron as one gets very wet.

SJx :D

p.s. I bought the Dyson hand held dust buster, its £99 but worth every penny!!

As one has never owned a car before one would need links to where one can purchase said products

and can't sponges scratch the paint? And I'm paying like £15 max for a handheld Hoover!

What's a chammy? I don't want to use aspire I'd a cloth to dry that might scratch it.

Autoglym: HERE

Down the left hand side of the above page there are also links to other cleaning products.

Sponges can scratch the paint however only really if you use one sponge for the whole car, if you use 1 sponge for the upper 2/3's of the car and 1 for the lower 1/3 then you should be fine.

Saying that most people I think use a 'mit' for the upper 2/3's (If you go in Halfords there is a mit within the Autoglym range)

i have to agree, mits are awesome :D alot better than a sponge... however i use a sponge on the wheels!

i use autoglym everything, shampoo, waterblade, SRP, glass polish, fast glass, leather cleaner, interior shampoo, rubber & vinyl cleaner (which does wonders on the dashboard i tell thee!)

i hoover the inside of mine with the household Dyson... dont have any trouble gettin in all the nooks n crannys with it!

Whatever you do, dont take it to the car wash - BIG scratches! And I cant believe all of you are still buying those Dyson things. If you want to get your car really clean on the inside get a "Sebo" - The best piece of German engineering since the V2 - and if you get one with a kit, you will get a really long extension pipe so you gan get inside the car no probs, then do your stairs also - and get brownie points with the missus!
