Seized Glove Box

My glove box on my corolla AE101 has completely seized up and wont open :(

it doesnt have a key to open it. you cant even move the latch to open the glove box. I thought it was because there was something in the inside that was jamming it. I did managed to have a look from the outside by ever so slightly lightly bending the glove box to find nothing was caught in its path.

Can you locate any screws around the glove box to enable you to gain access from behind it?

I checked throughly, and to no avial theres no screws around the glove box. I thought there might be something under the glove box latch but its just a small hole that goes no where >_<

Has anyone had a similar problem with this?

If there's no locking mechanism on the box then I'd suggest having a look at someone elses ( same model ) with a view to fabricating a pick to trip the catch - shouldn't be too hard.

you havent got friends that like playing pranks with superglue have you?? lol

if so, buy some nail varnish remover with acetone in it. it'll disolve the glue!

(just a random thought)

jade, lol hell no. But its a interesting thought :D

I did go crazy with the WD40, and didnt work.

I got a friends garage to look at it. Apparently, the glove box just seized up. including the springs, latch, etc.

The reason why the WD40 didnt work was because all the parts where sealed. there are screws on the top of the latch so it can be replaced. just need to look for the part now -_-

Thanks all for helping me out :)
