How do you replace the stereo? It's bigger than normal ones?

It's referred to as a double din unit...

You can get some good replacement units that fit exaclty...Or otherwise get a double din kit to blank out the space and then fit a normal size unit... The choice is yours....

Hi mate, you haven't said what model of Rav you are thinking about. So assuming its a 4.2 (Mk2) its pretty straightforward.

Its double din size, so you can get a straight replacement like a member called Bitman (do a search) or get a double Din

adapter plate and surround trim then fit a normal size stereo. The adapters etc are readilly available on the net or from

Halfords etc. Good luck. ;)

not quite that simple....

It is a "Wide Double-Din" unit. so if you buy a double-din stereo, it will fit fine and securely, but you will have a gap left and right. You will need to get a pair of fillers to make it look right.

Same goes if you get a Double-Din to Single Din adapter - still stuck with the gaps

There are a few posts about this around the forum

You will lose the On-Board computer and temp gauge if you change the radio, by the way.
