Paseo 1991 Engine Change =o

Hi... I've got a Paseo 1991 and I just got the car looked at. The mechanic told me its better to get a better engine since there are problems with it and the fact that the engine drinks a lot of oil, once that happans its much better to not try and fix it but rather get another engine in its place. So, I was wondering would anyone know if the 1991 model car would be able to install a 1995-97 Paseo engine?

If its a newer engine I know that there will be parts I can install if I wanted to mod it up a bit.

you could go for a complete swap and fit a 3S-GTE engine, has been done a few times over here and is very good.

the later paseo lump will fit but you will need the mounts, loom and ecu that go with that engine and maybe the transmission

as far as I know, the latter Seo still used the 5E-FE engine - so it should be a straight swap.

If you're looking for more from the car then the Starlet Turbo/Glanza engine is a straight 'drop in' - no engine mounts to move/fabricate, and minimal electrics to sort out.

So The 3S-GTE Engine is a clean fit? Nothing to be done extra? But the problem is that I just bought a Weapon-R short ram intake and its being shipped right now so I don't think that tube would really fit the 3S-GTE engine. Unless there is a store around here in Melbourne that can order just the tube piece.
