Does anyone know where the intake manifold and the oxygen temperature sensor or IAT is found on the Yaris 54 plates version. Im installing a resistor to improve perfromance and cannot locate the manifold.

1st of all welcome to the club

Now for your first possible saving since joining up...

What kind of resistor are you trying to install? and what sort of performance gains are you hoping to achieve? and how much did you pay for this resistor?

If you have bought something from the likes of eBay promising you better fuel economy and an extra "X" BHP.. ask yourself this... Why, if they are so cheap and offer so much, hasn't EVERYONE bought one?.. the answer to that question should tell you what you should really be doing with your resistor.

That was my first thought, but i thought that maybe it wouldnt hurt to try.

Take CFC1's advice and bin it because you will not get any increased BHP or better economy and could easily damage your engine.

This is one of the most popular "bolt on" bits of rubbish available on E-bay but also obtainable for much less from the likes of "Maplin".........................AVOID AT ANY COST!!!

Sorry if you are disappointed in you purchase (if you have bought it) but better to know now rather than after you fit it. As Red Yaris has said, these resistors can be bought in Maplins for little over £1 and are unlikely to do as the say.

If you are looking for performance mods this is the best place to start your research, search the site for the items you have been looking at to find the pro's and cons.. if you can't find what you are looking for then just ask and someone who knows will answer.

The first thing you could look for is an exhaust system and Induction kit.. these together could give you upto 5 -10bhp gain, enhance the appearance of your car and make it sound rather good too.. a good starting place.
