Hi

I seen a label, on some site/forum, telling you what OBD your car's equipped with.

Does any one know where this label should be, as I've looked all over the car and cant see it!!!

Or would any one of you know whether my GT Gen6 st202, 'L' reg '94, know which OBD system

my car will use?

Or does it matter? Whats the difference and why?

I have the 'Diagnostics' socket on board, R/H top corner of engine bay, as you look from front, but there's only the

pin connections label on the inside.

I also need the correct lead to plug into the socket , if the leads are different, or are the leads the same, and where would I be able to purchase one?

I'm only asking this coz I would like to understand the OBD and be able to find any future problems, I may come across!!

Would any of you know a 'Good' site that can help explain OBD?

All help and advice much appreciated

Cheers Micky

If it's anything like other Toyota's ( certainly the ones that I'm familiar with ) then what you do is bridge 2 of the connections in the diagnostic port and a sequence of lights will flash on the dashboard/clocks. This then tells you of any problems.

I'm reluctant to tell you which pins though, as I only know the setup for the Sera and wouldn't want you to blow up your car if it's different on a Celica.
